Essa è legata alla crescita emotiva e all´apprendimento.
The Fascia and the concept of TENSEGRITY
The Fascia is, by far, the most widespread structure in the body . It creates an internal balance of elastic resistance (resilience) through a game of thrusts and counter-thrusts that allows the physical structure to remain in vertical suspension on the Earth's surface.
This principle is called TENSEGRITY, a term coined by the architect Buckminster Fuller, in the 60s of the last century.
Fascia is all around us!
Here is a videopresentation on Fascia made by certified Rolfer Gil Hedley for the Fascia Congress in Berlin on November 2018.
You can realize how Fascia wraps the entire human being. Some local dissections highlight the functional properties of the "organ of form" (quote by I. Rolf) named also "Interstitium"
The viewing to an impressionable audience is not recommended
About the terms "Structural Integration"
(Emmett Hutchins and Peter Melchior were the first teachers who led a course of Structural Integration)
When Dr. Rolf decided to name her work, it was after years of careful contemplation. She selected her words well. Indeed, the name, Structural Integration, does imply the full scope of her teaching.
A tight person can´t feel the world around
Throughout the whole body are sensory nerves with receptors which record muscolar tension , pull on tendons, joint compression and the position of the head in relation to gravity.
These nerves are referred as proprioceptors (“self-receivers”) and are essential for movement coordination and thus transform a stimulus from the external environment into a nerve impulse to be conducted to a region of the spinal chord or brain in order to be translated intosensation/movement.
How to enhance the personal kinaesthetic and sensorial image
"Kinesthesia, is the awareness of theposition and movement of the parts of the body by means of sensory organs (proprioceptors) located in muscles,, tendons and sheaths and which intervenes in the regulation of motor activity.. Alterations in kinesthesia occur in many pathologies of the CNS and peripheral organs: from trauma and osteoarticular and muscular lesions, to inhibitions of the peripheral and spinal proprioceptive pathways and vestibular, cortical and subcortical integration systems..
Rolfing is educating himself in interviewing his own body
The lack of information about the human body during the school years is surprising, considering the fact that it is "our home" whole life long...
Most of our daily life is involved in the external perception of the outside world, through the sense organs responsible for the functions of sight, hearing, touch, taste, smell.
